Instruction
Tailwheel Professionals’ training goal is to offer the best specialty flight training possible, emphasizing both safety and confidence throughout the process. Our flight training teaches you not only the required tasks to complete the course, but also valuable, real-world scenarios that our instructors have experienced.
Each course incorporates a syllabus and is structured with ground school, chair flying, and a cockpit checkout prior to flying. This ensures the applicant is as prepared as possible to jump into a new environment with most questions answered on the ground.
Our instructors have welcoming personalities and have worked with pilots of all levels, ranging from ten-thousand-hour airline pilots and airshow aerobatic pilots to brand new students. All our instructors have a passion for teaching and are excited to work with you.
Ferry Service
Tailwheel Professionals’ ferry goal is to deliver your aircraft in a timely manner as efficiently as possible. We keep communication with our customers for intended fuel stops, flight tracking, and progress.
Our ferry pilots have made multiple coast-to-coast ferries and have the decision-making abilities required to have your aircraft arrive unscathed. Our pilots have flown over all climates found in the nation and can adapt to changing scenarios.
After our ferries, we give you a detailed list of everything we found working or not working with the airplane.

Spin Training
We can provide spin training in our 2006 American Champion Super Decathalon.
Our Team
Your lead instructor and pilot is Job Savage. Job started flying in 2020 and is now an accomplished tailwheel and warbird pilot. He currently has 3600 hours and 2300 hours of tailwheel time. He is both an airplane and helicopter CFII and holds an ATP rating that he received in a Douglas DC-3. In addition to the DC-3, he holds a type rating in the Grumman TBM Avenger, as well as Experimental Type Ratings in the North American P-51 and Supermarine Spitfire, and Douglas AD Skyraider. He routinely flies other warbirds including the Curtiss P-40, Beech 18, North American T-6, Cessna L-19, Fairchild PT-26, and various Waco models. To date has experience in 55 types of airplanes and helicopters.
In 2023 Job raced in the T-6 Class at the final Reno National Air Races where he placed 6th in the Silver Race. He was named the class 2023 Rookie of the Year.
In the spring of 2024, he was pilot in command for two Atlantic crossings in the DC-3 as part of the D-Day Squadron. That same year was named as a Warbird 20 under 40 Rising Star.
Job’s passion is instruction, particularly tailwheel and warbird instruction. Unlike many young pilots, he is not instructing and providing ferry services to ‘build time’ for the airlines. His intent is to be a career instructor and ferry pilot.
He is appreciative of the opportunity to share these unique aircraft with others and is especially interested in equipping other young pilots to continue to keep history alive.

Zero Ferry
We recently had Job Savage ferry our latest aircraft purchase. We highly recommend Job. His outstanding work ferrying our aircaft from Washington to Virginia went smoothly and was handled professionallly. this trip included approximately 17 hours of flight time with numerous fuel and maintenance stops, yet Job handled every leg of the journey smoothly and delivered the aircraft right on schedule. Primary Training
Job Savage is a truly wonderful CFI. His passion for aviation, as well as, his knowledge is combined with his numerous hours of flight experience adding lol to his innovative style and techniques. I thoroughly enjoyed learning so much from my experience. He truly drives his students to prepare them for exams and check-rides that must be mastered.
DC-3 Training
My son and I fly with the Military Aviation Museum, and we are blessed to fly many WWII aircraft. Getting our type rating in the DC-3 with Job Savage was absolutely fantastic. Job knows that DC-3 inside and out and his manner of instructing truly has you enjoying every minute that you are flying
RV-8 Ferry
I bought an RV-8 that needed to be ferried from Phoenix to Chicago. I chose Job for the task, and that proved to be an excellent choice! Job is incredibly experienced with a really wide variety of airplanes, so he can ferry just about anything. He's careful and conscientious, he kept me up-to-date on how things were progressing along the way. He was flexible and creative when plans needed to change a bit. Overall, I can't imagine a better pilot to ferry my aircraft. I've recommended him to others since that flight and he's done great for those folks as well. Thanks so much Job!
T-6 Ferry
I recently bought an SNJ 5 from Connie Edwards estate in Midland Texas.
It had been sitting for 5 years and after a ferry flight from Midland to Carl Best’s hangar in McKinney for an extensive annual, Job brought it home to Culpeper Airport (CJR) in Culpeper Va.
He was kind enough to let me back seat for the flight. His skill and professionalism is remarkable, especially for someone his age. I was extremely impressed and highly recommend him to ferry any aircraft with one or more propellers.
CFI Training
I completed my tailwheel endorsement and later CFI training with Job. Job is a professional instructor and is committed to his students successes. Job's top down approach to making complex subjects easier to understand is top notch.
Douglas Skyraider Ferry

His calm judgement and attention to detail were evident in every decision he made.
